Tripura University (A Central University) established on 2nd July 2007 under an Act of Parliament, is a teaching and affiliating university in the state of Tripura. The university promotes teaching and research in the state of Tripura with the vision of offering educational and research opportunities to not just stakeholders in the Northeast region of India, but also across the country. Tripura University offers a vibrant campus life and one of the safest and most secure academic environments in the country. As a conventional University, Tripura University has taken upon itself the responsibility to preserve and promote the enviable heritage of the state’s indigenous art forms, folk, oral and multi-dimensional cultural traditions. The campus has a picturesque landscape with lakes, forests, hillocks, flower and fruit gardens offering a serene and tranquil backdrop with groves of trees, the fragrance of flora, calls of the flocking birds, swarm of butterflies, reptiles etc. The future plans of the University include expansion of the campus and immediate installation of ICT enabled classrooms in all the departments, more hostels for men and women including research scholars’ hostels, improved canteen, guest houses and accommodation for the faculty and non-teaching staff, employment of modern technological tools and facilitating multimedia mode of interactive teaching- learning. In order to adapt with the demands of the changing times, the University is gradually changing over to e-governance for efficient, accurate and eco-friendly administration. The way ahead is long and arduous, the resources modest, but an unfaltering spirit and determination to ‘never to yield’ inspires Tripura University to continue its “pursuit of excellence” in this remote landlocked topography of India.

The Central Library of Tripura University is the ‘Knowledge Hub’ of teaching, learning and research of academic fraternity on the campus. Since its inception, the Central Library has been playing an instrumental role in supporting teaching, learning, research, and innovation through unique resource collections, cutting-edge technologies, innovative services and quality infrastructure to its users. From the dearth of information resources in the Central Library system, the tireless efforts of the Library professionals have created a Manhattan of Knowledge over the years. The main vision of the Central Library is to stimulate teaching, learning, research, and innovation of the university through unique range of collections, thereby providing evidence-based innovative services, facilitating access to hassle-free information resources and strategic collaborations, supporting scholarly information and research, and creating physical and virtual environments to support users. The basic objective is to create excellence ‘Reading Ecosystem’, for the stakeholders of the University, with the primary focus to provide a solid intellectual platform for the teaching fraternity and student community through evidence-based innovative contents, technologies and services in the digital age.  The Central Library has been instrumental in conserving and preserving the rare manuscripts of the North-East region. On a larger prospect, the Central Library offers various services to the rural community for their all-round development. 

Academic Libraries are central to the learning, teaching, research, enterprise and innovation of their organizations. The role of Libraries cannot be undermined for the excellence of any organization. Libraries considered as an integral part in accomplishing the vision and mission of any organizations. Libraries pose unique and momentous challenges from the external and internal environment which are inevitable. Therefore, must embrace creative and innovative practices at any level. Innovation must happen now for the visibility and survival of the Libraries. During the changing times, Libraries have to adapt, adopt and implement innovative ideas, systems, services, processes, technologies, products, etc. through strategic manner. Libraries need to reimagine and re-envision in regards to unique collections, cutting aged technologies and exemplary services by adopting evidence-based creative and innovative approaches to survive and thrive in the 21st century. Librarians must act as ambassadors in adopting five pillars of evidenced-based innovation resilience such as contents, services, technologies, marketing and leadership for the betterment of the next generation Libraries. This conference will explore the Libraries beyond Libraries in terms of adaption and adoption of innovation for a vibrant Library for now and for the future. The conference will provide a platform for professionals to showcase their creative and innovative ideas, practices, case studies, research output, technological innovations, and best practices adopted for a vibrant Library for the best use of the users. This conference will act as an advocacy platform among academicians, professionals, researchers, students, IT experts, etc. across the globe for developing a stronger collaborative network to generate, exchange, and transfer knowledge for organizational excellence which untimely help in realizing the dream for a Viksit Bharat@2047. Further, this convention will promote new skills, competencies and techniques among professionals for the uplift of academic libraries in the North-East region as envisaged by the Government of India.
